THE BRAND CHALLENGE:
CORES Development and Chapoo Agency presented us with a complex positioning challenge: create a compelling brand identity for The Quint, the pioneering building on Mechelen's 78-hectare Ragheno industrial site.
The project needed to achieve multiple objectives simultaneously: honor the 150-year legacy of Willem Ragheno's railway carriage factory, establish credibility as a catalyst for Europe's largest brownfield transformation, and attract forward-thinking entrepreneurs to invest in a sustainable urban future.
The brand had to speak authentically to both local heritage and international ambition, respecting the industrial past while confidently claiming the sustainable future.

OUR ET ALORS? MOMENT:
Why force a choice between heritage and innovation when the most powerful brands bridge both worlds? What if the visual identity could embody the very transformation it represents, just like the site itself is transforming from industrial wasteland to thriving sustainable district? How do you create recognition for something that has never existed before while honoring something that defined a city for generations?

THE BOLD SOLUTION:
We developed a comprehensive brand system that literally and metaphorically transforms. The geometric logo combines a stable square foundation (representing trust and industrial heritage) with a dynamic diagonal cut (symbolizing movement, progress, and transformation). This simple yet powerful mark works across all applications while telling the core story of transformation.
Our custom color palette narrates the site's journey. The typography system combines industrial strength with refined elegance, exactly mirroring the project's positioning. We created detailed brand guidelines including photography principles that capture authentic transformation moments rather than generic corporate imagery.
The result: a brand identity as bold and transformative as the urban development project it represents, giving The Quint the credibility to attract pioneering businesses to Mechelen's most ambitious district.
